About
A santoku is a Japanese all-purpose kitchen knife. It can be used for just about every cutting job in the kitchen, just like a chef's knie. "Santoku" means “three virtues" and may refer to the three types of foods it works well with—vegetables, proteins, and fruit. This Shun Classic Santoku offers a compact 4-inch blade, making it a perfect go-to knife when cutting medium-sized foods or for cooks who simply prefer the quick handling of a smaller kitchen knife. Hollow-ground indentations on the blade help reduce friction so the blade glides through whatever you are cutting more easily.
- A compact, do-it-all kitchen knife
- Proprietary VG-MAX cutting core is wear and corrosion resistant, strong, and very fine-grained to enable a razor-sharp, long-lasting 16° edge
